The vision of the University City Church of Christ is to equip God’s family to seek and save the lost, and to live holy lives by His Word.
We at the University City Church of Christ welcome all international people. We would be happy to help you adjust to living in a new country, as well as assist you in communicating effectively in English.
Would you like to:
* Increase your English skills?
* Develop friendships with Americans, other international visitors, and residents?
* Learn about God’s love for all nations?
We offer free one-on-one English tutoring each Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in our Family Life Center at 4626 NW 8th Avenue. You will receive free English study materials, chosen to match your English level, study or job interests. The class concludes with a brief Bible discussion for which you will receive a free easy-to-read Bible. Age specific children’s activities are provided during the class period. You are welcome to stay for the 10:20 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. worship service, or you may leave.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) — required of international students to enter graduate school practice, can be included in either Sunday class or scheduled for a separate group session.
Children may participate in a wide variety of special activities — both at the church and away — for children, college students and adults. See the home page for other programs. Children, parents and college students may participate sporting events, special classes, fun activities and outings. College students may also check out UCCC’s College Program, “Gators for Christ,” at www.gatorsforchrist.org.
English Partners coordinators are Roger and Peggy Sedlacek. Peggy has 33 years’ foreign language teaching experience and a M.Ed. in Multicultural and Foreign Language Education.
