We at the University City Church of Christ welcome all international people.  We would welcome an opportunity to help you adjust to living in a new country, as well as assist you in communicating effectively in English.

Would you like to:
* Increase your English skills?
*  Develop friendships with Americans, other international visitors, and residents?
*  Learn about God’s love for all nations?

We offer one-on-one English tutoring each Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in our Family Life Center at 4626 NW 8th Avenue.  You will receive free English study materials, chosen to match your English level, study or job interests.  The class concludes with a brief Bible discussion for which you will receive a free easy-to-read Bible.  Age specific children’s activities are provided during the class period.  You are welcomed to stay for the 10:20 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. worship service, or you may leave.

Additionally, free adult English classes are also held on Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in our main building at 4626 NW 8th Avenue. The classes use very interactive textbooks for grammar and conversation lessons. From 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. classes are offered at the Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced levels. Snacks and conversation time for all levels is from 3:15p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and an optional Bible discussion time in English is offered from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Participants will receive a free easy-to-read Bible. Although there is no childcare provided during this time, Coffrin Nature Park is very nearby.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) — required of international students to enter graduate school practice, can be included in either Sunday class or scheduled for a separate group session.

You are invited to participate in a wide variety of special activities — both at the church and away — for children, college students and adults.  See the home page for other programs. Children, parents and college students may participate sporting events, special classes, fun activities and outings. College students may also check out UCCC’s College Program, “Gators for Christ,” at www.gatorsforchrist.org.
