Missions
University City Church of Christ has supported numerous missions during its history. Currently, in addition to teaching the Gospel and seeking to serve the Gainesville community through its various local ministries, UCCC provides various levels of support to the below churches and missions.
Namwianga Mission, Zambia
Zambia Mission Fund oversees the work of Namwianga Mission, a 6,000-acre center for evangelism, education, and humanitarian aid in the Southern Province of Zambia. Namwianga is home to a secondary school, hospital, radio station, orphan care homes, two colleges, and a working farm. Zambia Mission Fund and Namwianga are affiliated with the Churches of Christ.

Baxter Institute, Tegucigalpa, Honduras
UCCC supports the Baxter Institute, a Christian educational institution located in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Its purpose is to prepare its students to become preachers, teachers, missionaries, and leaders among churches of Christ throughout the Spanish-speaking world. For over 50 years, Baxter Institute has provided ministerial training in a Latin American context. Originally established in Mexico in 1964, Baxter Institute was later moved to Tegucigalpa in 1978.
Baxter Institute also provides medical, dental, and pharmaceutical services in an on-site clinic serving more than to 13,000 patients each year. The full-time staff are assisted by both visiting medical missions groups from churches and universities in the United States and also by medical students from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM).
Today there are more than 700 graduates of Baxter’s residential program, ministers, and families involved in a variety of ministries all across Latin America and the U.S.

Ukraine
UCCC supports Ukrainian churches. Before the start of the war with the Russian Federation, UCCC was providing assistance to several Ukrainian churches, providing meals for public school children that didn’t have sufficient food, and holding summer camps for teens. With the war’s disruption to normal life, UCCC members have sent clothing for folks who have lost everything and funded food boxes.
