For Youth

From infants to teens, University City Church of Christ has many events and programs designed for your children.

    Faith City

University City Church of Christ’s Kindergarten through 5th Grade Bible-class program is known as “Faith City.” Each of five individually themed classrooms facilitates a child’s learning of the Bible and Biblical principles in a new and fun way. The classrooms include a Theatre, Game Room, Arts & Crafts Room, Café, and Museum – a “city” of sorts. The curriculum incorporates the themed rooms into each lesson, permitting children to learn the Bible through a variety of teaching styles and activities.

    Lads-to-Leaders / Leaderettes

Lads-to-Leaders / Leaderettes (“L2L”) is a component of the Youth Ministry at University City Church of Christ. Children in grades 3 through 12 may participate. “L2L” was created more than 40 years ago with the vision of training young men for leadership positions in local churches. The program has further expanded to include activities for young ladies as well.

Students in the “L2L” program receive training and mentoring in activities such as song leading, public Bible reading, preparing and presenting a message, learning how to script and present a puppet show with a Biblical theme, Bible study, and learning how to prepare a scrapbook of memories.
Service to others is also a central part of the “L2L” experience. Throughout the year, “L2L” participants may be involved in a variety of activities such as cleaning yards or garages or conducting a carwash for the elderly; making cards and cookies or preparing fruit baskets and caroling to shut-ins at Christmas; or hosting a tea for widows and widowers.
The annual regional convention in Orlando, Fla., is a big event for the “L2L” program. At convention, participants can test their knowledge and skills against other students their age, including participation in Bible Bowl competition.

    Youth Group Ministry

Under the direction of a full-time Youth Minister, UCCC’s Youth Ministry serves students between the 6th and 12th grade. As these young people mature in their faith, the ministry’s goal is to help guide them into a life of service to God and others.
We meet together Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. for Bible study.

The young people at University City are involved in an array of activities and events that help them grow closer to God and to each other, including devotionals in host homes, service projects, Vacation Bible Schools, summer and winter camps, and youth rallies.

    Florida Bible Camp

The Bible and Fun! Florida Bible Camp is a ministry operated and overseen by an independent board of directors. It is supported by congregations across northern Florida, including UCCC. In fact, UCCC members were instrumental in FBC’s founding and continue to be leaders in this ministry. FBC hosts numerous retreats, summer camps, and special events throughout the year. Activities at FBC’s annual summer camps, for kids eight to 18, include Bible study, crafting, hiking, tubing, canoeing, swimming, sports and lots of other fun activities. A dedicated staff of Christian counselors, recreation and craft leaders, and Bible teachers work together to make each child’s stay at Florida Bible Camp an enjoyable and spiritually profitable experience.
